Decks cleared for biggest ever police recruitment drive in Telangana

Hyderabad: In the biggest-ever recruitment drive since the formation of Telangana, decks have been cleared for filling 14,177 vacant posts in various categories in the police department through direct recruitment in the State. The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) is likely to issue necessary notification in this regard.

Of the total of 14,177 vacant posts, about 1,236 posts were those of sub-inspectors of police, 26 of assistant sub-inspectors of police and the remaining 12,941 posts were of constables in various categories, including civil, Armed Reserve, Telangana State Special Police, Communications and Fingerprint Bureau.

On Saturday, the Police Recriutment Board was asked to take necessary steps for filling the vacancies expeditiously after obtaining details, including local cadre-wise vacancy position, roster points and qualifications among others, from the authorities concerned. All the administrative heads have been asked to furnish necessary details of vacancies to both the Board and the Finance Department to initiate further measures.

The latest recruitment will be the largest recruitment drive and second one after the recruitment drive for 10,432 vacant posts of constables conducted last year.

Earlier, the Telangana government had sanctioned 18,290 posts in various ranks to various units of Telangana police department and completed recruitment of 14,329 police constables who are currently undergoing training. Similarly, another 532 sub-inspectors of police were recruited in various categories and began training at RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy.

549 posts to be filled in SW schools

The State government on Saturday cleared proposals for filling 549 vacant posts in Telangana Social

Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) through direct recruitment. The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has been directed to conduct recruitment for these posts.

Among the total sanctioned posts, three are for Grade-II principals, 10 for junior lecturers, 52 for post graduate teachers, 418 for trained graduate teachers, 22 physical education teachers, 12 librarians, 10 craft teachers, five art teachers, five music teachers and 12 staff nurses.

TSPSC officials have been instructed to take necessary steps for issuing notification and filling up of the vacancies through direct recruitment after obtaining details, including local cadres, roster points, and qualifications, among others.
