Create awareness on voting, says Telangana Election Observer

Mancherial: State Election Observer Dr A Ashok said that all political parties should create awareness on the casting of votes among citizens. He convened a meeting with political leaders and district authorities separately here on Wednesday.

Ashok stressed the need to raise awareness among voters by all political outfits and requested the parties to extend their support to officials concerned in preparing a flawless voters list. He urged them to depute booth-level agents and to report their concerns, if any, by going through the draft list of voters.

He instructed the authorities to take up necessary additions, deletions and corrections, besides enrolment of voters and informed that 38,000 electors recorded their names, while 36,000 names of voters were removed from the list owing to a wide range of reasons. He asked the officials to share the information relating to deletions with political parties.

The IAS officer further stated that 1,885 persons registered their names under the special voters drive held on February 4 and 11. The last date for enrolling names is February 20, he added.

Joint Collector Y Surender Rao, Bellampalli Sub-Collector Rahul Raj, Mancherial MRO Srinivas and other officials were present.
