CM KCR asks TRS MPs to fight on farmers’ issues

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao wanted TRS MPs to put up a fight on farmers issues during the ongoing budget session of Parliament.

He also wanted them to take up various pending issues pertaining to Telangana in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to persuade the Centre give a commitment in this regard.

Following a meeting with Ministers at Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday, the Chief Minister instructed the Parliament members to extend gratitude to the Central government for its support to Telangana as well as demand for resolving pending issues.

He wanted them to take up issues on reservations, national status and funding for Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme, funds for Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, and Warangal Mega Textile Park. He asked the MPs to pitch for linking the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme with agriculture and also emphasise the need for the Central government to respect the spirit of the cooperative federal system.
