Apart from Telugu language, people can learn dance, music, arts and other fine arts at the Akademi, TAM president Y Achaiah Kumar Rao told Telangana Today over phone from Malaysia.

Over 3,000 students of different ages, who are pursuing Telugu language in 30 different locations throughout Malaysia, will be benefited from the courses offered at the Akademi, he said, adding that it would be the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University that prepares question papers for students and give the certificates for qualified students.

The Telugu Akademi will accommodate 350 students and will be a major centre for Telugus to learn the Telugu language, culture and fine arts. TAM laid the foundation for the Rs 40 crore Akademi project in March 2016 of which Rs 25 crore was granted by the Malaysian government.
