Telangana ahead of all other States, says KTR

Karimnagar: Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao said Telangana State was progress at a brisk pace ahead of all other States on all fronts and assumed number one position in the country in terms of GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) as well as EoDB (Ease of Doing Business).

He stated that about three lakh jobs were created through direct employment in the State in the last three and half years, while another three lakh jobs were provided through indirect employment.

After laying foundation for construction of IT Tower near Ujwala Park here on Monday, Rama Rao recalled that the Andhra leadership opposed formation of separate State of Telangana alleging that people from Telangana were not capable of ruling an individual State.

“But our Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao has proved that we are not only capable for ruling ourselves but also can be leaders and role models for other States to emulate us. Telangana State has been developed as number one State in the entire country within a short period of three and half years,” he declared.

The Minister said Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao was addressing issues like water, funds and employment which were pillars for separate Telangana agitation in a phased manner. He pointed out that implementation of initiatives like uninterrupted power supply to farm sector was winning accolades from all quarters where renowned agricultural scientist MS Swaminathan has praised the Chief Minister for his novel initiative.

“While famous poet Dasharadi declared ‘Naa Telangana Koti Ratanala Veena’, the Chief Minister was realising the dream of ‘Telangana Koti Ekarala Magani’ (One crore acres of cultivable land) through implementation of various irrigation projects including Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS),” he added.

Rama Rao said drinking water will be supplied to every household in the State by summer this year after completion of Mission Bhagiratha and the TRS will not seek votes in the 2019 elections if it fails. Further, he stated that it was not possible to provide government jobs to all but the State government was half way through providing one lakh jobs to aspiring government employees.

He suggested that the government was creating employment opportunities and providing necessary training to interested youth willing to work in private sector. Remaining youths have to depend on private sector for employment. In order to provide employment to unemployed youths, Telangana government brought private, IT and other industries to the State.
