Over 700 women constables graduate from Telangana State Police Academy

Hyderabad: Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Wednesday called upon the police to update their skills to tackle criminals who were using latest technology to commit crimes.

Speaking after reviewing the passing out parade of 735 stipendary cadet trainee women constables at the Rao Bahadur Venkatram Reddy Telangana State Police Academy here, the Minister said, “It is the responsibility of the police to update their knowledge in tune with the changing scenario and discharge duties.”

The State government was providing necessary infrastructure to the police to help them maintain law and order effectively. Referring to the safety and security of the women, Reddy said the government introduced She Teams to take action against those who are harassing women.

The She Teams concept has received appreciation from all quarters and the police in some States were implementing the same, he added.

The parade was led by commander J. Maheswari.
