NIT-Warangal and CII sign MoU

Warangal: In order to strengthen the industry institute Interface, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Telangana, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) here on Tuesday.

The MoU was signed by V Rajanna, Chairman CII Telangana & vice president & Global Head-Technology Business Unit, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Prof NV Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Warangal.

Highlighting the objectives of MoU, V Rajanna said MoU will facilitate regular interaction between the industry and academia and promote the culture of technology product development by enabling ideation, experimentation and prototype development.

CII will also facilitate faculty development programmes on the newer technologies of interest so that the faculty is well trained in advance. “Warangal is in fact an educational hub with lot of good quality educational institutions around. This is an important aspect for sustaining new industrial investments” he added.

Prof. NV Ramana Rao opined that the Institute, in its endeavour to improve quality and relevance of technology graduates, must maintain a strong interface with the Industrial research and requirements, which will strengthen competitiveness of the students.

“The MoU would help researchers and the institute graduates work on Industry relevant products and applied research in problems of Industry and societal relevance”, he added.
