Minister credits new SP for normalcy in Adilabad

Adilabad: Newly posted Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier called on Forest and Environment Minister Jogu Ramanna at Zilla Parishad office here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramanna appreciated Warrier for playing a key role in restoring normalcy in Utnoor, which boiled during the standoff between Adivasis and Lambadas. He told the IPS officer to coordinate with authorities of various departments and ensure peace. He said the State government was determined to resolve problems of all sections of society.

The Minister asserted that Adilabad was registering growth on many fronts with the help of funds granted by the government and schemes of State. He advised Warrier to utilise his experience gained while serving as SP of Nirmal to protect law and order of the district. The SP said various wings of the Police Department strove hard to bring the situation under control.

The IPS officer stated that reforms would be brought in duties of cops for rendering quality services to the public. He was speaking at the maiden grievance redressal programme held at his office, following assuming charges of SP of Adilabad. He camped in Utnoor for 20 days in the wake of differences between the two groups.

The SP said action plans were being prepared to visit each village in order to learn problems of civilians. He said policing would be strengthened at village-level.
