Mancherial: 18 tolas gold, cash 90K stolen

Mancherial: In a spate of burglaries, unidentified burglars decamped with 18 tolas of gold and cash Rs 90,000 from two residences and made a vain bid in two other residences in different parts of the town on Monday midnight.

Mancherial police said that gold ornaments weighing 10 tolas and cash Rs 90,000 was stolen from the house of Kasipaka Anjaiaha, a resident of College Road when he was away from home. Similarly, eight tolas of gold were theft from the residence belonging to Gaddam Parvathi who went to Hyderabad for undergoing treatment for her disease. She is a native of Ramnagar.

The burglars scanned two houses of Vishwanatham and Shankaraiah, residents of the similar area, but did not steal any property.  They gained entry to the houses by breaking open locks.  The owners realized the burglaries when they returned their homes. They lodged a complaint with cops who in turn gathered pieces of evidence using sniffer dogs and CLUES team.

Mancherial ACP Gouse Baba inspected the spot and gathered information about the burglaries by speaking to victims and neighbors. It is suspected that construction workers migrated from Madhya Pradesh might have indulged in the offense as sniffer dogs halted on the fifth floor of an under-construction apartment in Ramnagar.
