KCR, Baahubali kites in great demand in Sangareddy

Sangareddy: Flying kites is the inseparable part of Sankranti celebrations across Telangana. The Kite makers have always cashed in on the image of film stars, cartoon characters and popular politicians of their respective area by printing their images on the kites in order to attract the children. This season is no different.

Among all, kites printed with the image of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and stars of Baahubali are making a brisk business in Sangareddy. These two kites are also priced higher than other kites though the quality is of the same. The kites printed with KCR and Bahubali actor’s image were being sold at Rs 10 each, the rest of the kites of were sold at Rs 5 each.

Chandrashekar Rao, who had not only spearheaded Telangana movement to achieve Statehood but also put the State on growth path within a short span of three years, has great image even among the kids. While Prabhas and Rana, the lead actor and the antagonist in Bahubali won the hearts of many with their performance in both Baahubali and Baahubali-II.

These two kinds of kites were out of stock at most of the stalls across erstwhile Medak district as children prefer them over others. Speaking to Telangana Today, a vendor at Old Bus Station, MD Sameer said that they have sold out the KCR kites in huge numbers which indicates the growing popularity to Chief Minister.

Kites printed with images of Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in Bollywood block buster movie Sultan, Amir Khan in Dangal were also exhibited at the stalls besides other Telugu and Bolywood stars.

Kites having images of Cricket greats such as Sachin Tednulkar, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are also in great demand. B Saketh, who was seen buying a handful of kites at a stall said that they would love to fly the kites having images of actor Prabhas and cartoon character Chota Bheem since he love their movies.
