Warangal Urban: Impressed with the 2BHK housing scheme being implemented by the State government, a good samaritan Bakki Yadagiri of Vidyaranyapruri in Hanamkonda, has come forward to donate 2.5 acres of land owned by his family at Deshaipet on the outskirts of Warangal city for the construction of 2BHK houses.

Yadagiri tweeted his intention to donate the land and tagged IT Minister K T Rama Rao. In his tweet he said he was impressed with the construction of double bedroom houses in Sircilla and his family was willing to donate 2.5 acres at Deshaipet in GWMC limits to realise dreams of Chief Minister to provide shelter for poor people.

Bakki Yadagiri, who is the chairman of Professor Jayashankar Memorial Seva Society and president of Vidyaranyapuri colonies committee, told ‘Telangana Today’ that he was impressed with State government’s functioning and decided to donate the land.

“In the city, it has become difficult for the government to identify suitable government lands for the construction of the 2BHK houses. In view of this, I have come forward to donate the land. I am going to meet the Collector in three days and complete the due process to hand over the land to the government. The land is very much suitable for the construction of double bedroom houses,” he added.

He said his wife Shoba Kumari, who recently retired as vice-principal CKM college, Deshaipet, had also promised to donate 1,000 yards of land for the construction of boys hostel. The land value is said to be around Rs 6,000 per yard.

Meanwhile, Warangal Urban Collector Amrapali Kata directed the Warangal RDO Venka Reddy to contact Yadagiri and to start the process.
