304 special buses from erstwhile Adilabad for Medaram jatara

Adilabad: Telangana State Road Transportation Corporation’s (TSRTC) erstwhile Adilabad Regional Manager K Rajendra Prasad said that 304 services, including expresses and Pallevelugu, were being operated from five points in coal belt towns of Mancherial district and one from Kumram Bheem Asifabad. He urged devotees to uitlise the special buses as the corporation ensures safety of passengers.

Rajendra Prasad told Telangana Today that six locations, Bellampalli, Mandamarri, Srirampur, Mancherial and Chennur in Mancherial district and Asifabad of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district were identified for plying the special buses in connection with the biannual Medaram Jatara, from January 28 to February 4.

“A sum of 10 special buses is being operated from Asifabad town, while 55 services are allocated for the tribal fair from Bellampalli and Chennur towns each. As many as 97 buses are being operated from Mancherial to Medaram. A total of 52 buses were arranged from Mandamarri town, while 35 would originate at Srirampur,” Regional Manager explained.

Rajendra Prasad stated that services would be raised on certain routes if required. He informed that devotees can avail special packages for hiring the buses of the corporation. He added that 1,200 employees were designated to discharge duties. He remarked the devotees commuting by the buses could reach near the temple of Sammakka-Saralamma deities.

The head of the region advised devotees to contact divisional managers Mancherial and Adilabad by dialing 99522 25998, 99522 25997, respectively, for utilizing the special buses. He recalled that the corporation had earned an income of Rs 2.44 crore by operating special buses in view of the fair in 2016, with 94,000 passengers utilizing the services.
