Uninterrupted power supply to take country by surprise: Kadiam

Warangal Rural: People in the country would be surprised to know that farmers in Telangana will soon get 24 hours power supply, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said on Saturday.

The State government took all steps to ensure that farmers get undisrupted power supply from Sunday midnight (December 31), he said, adding that it will also offer Rs 4,000 per acre for a season soon.

Addressing a Palle Pragathi programme at Yeallaiahgudem in Chennaraopet mandal in the district on Saturday, Srihari said the government was taking all steps for the welfare of the farming community through various measures. “The TRS government supplied seeds and fertilisers sufficiently and there were no complaints about scarcity in the last three years,” he said.

Appreciating State Civil Supplies Corporation chairman Peddi Sudharshan Reddy for taking the initiative to conduct the Palle Pragathi programme, Srihari said Rs 20 crore was sanctioned to Narsampet Assembly constituency in two years. “In addition to this, Rs 25 crore was sanctioned for the construction of drains and roads in villages and thandas. These works have to be completed by May-end,” he said.

Reddy said the State Civil Supplies Corporation was providing employment to 10,000 people in small and cottage industries in the constituency. “The government is offering loan worth Rs 1 lakh to Rs 25 lakh on 30 per cent subsidy for setting up cottage industries,” he said.

Mahabubad MP A Sitaram Naik and Sarpanch Vijaya also spoke at the meeting.
