Adilabad: All habitations in Integrated Tribal Development Agency-Utnoor and several other parts continued to be remain under the patrolling of security agencies including Railway Protection Force, Rapid Action Force, and Telangana State Special Police (Indian Reserve) on Sunday. Gudems of Adivasis and Thandas dwelled by Lambadas were under the watch of cops like never before. However, sporadic incidents of burning houses were registered in some parts of the district.

Large contingents of forces were deployed in Hasnapur, where clashes broke out on Friday, and some other parts of Adilabad district. Rachakonda joint commissioner Taru Joshi is heading patrolling at Hasnapur. Commercial establishments, schools, hospitals remained closed. Roads wore a deserted look with two or more civilians not being allowed to gather, following the imposition of Section 144 of CrPC.  

Additional forces have been drawn from eight districts for making bandobust in sensitive areas in Utnoor. Three DIGs, three commissioners, three SPs, eight IPS officers were designated to oversee the situation. They are camping in Utnoor and are reviewing the patrolling and deployment of forces in the district.  

Four houses torched 

Despite patrolling and heavy bandobust, sporadic incidents of burning houses have been reported elsewhere in the district. Four houses were allegedly torched by Adivasis protesters in Rampur Thanda of Sirikonda mandal and a barn was set on fire by the ethnic tribes at Premnagar of Narnoor on the borders of Telangana and Maharashtra States. Chandrapur SP and Narnoor Tahsildar reviewed the situation.
