Tenders called for construction of Collectorates in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Roads and Buildings department has called tenders for the construction of 26 new district Collectorates, Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao said on Monday.

Department officials informed the Minister during a review meeting that of the 26 new Collectorates, 21 would have residences going with it. He was also informed that the contract agreement for the 26 Collectorates had been signed.

“Works have been assigned for 18 Collectorates and they have been fast-tracked. Land acquisition is yet to be taken up for four district Collectorates and there are another four districts where we have completed land acquisition, but works are yet to take off due to other issues,” the Minister said.

Speaking about the construction of residence-cum-camp offices for MLAs, he said: “In all, 104 buildings would be constructed at a cost of Rs 119 crore. As of now, 12 buildings have been constructed and 88 are under construction. Only four buildings are waiting for land acquisition to be completed.”

However, the Minister fumed at the officials for delaying works on the construction of the Inspection Bungalows (IBs) or guest houses. The IBs would be taken up at a cost of Rs 36.20 crores in 16 areas across the State.
