Telangana BC Commission Chairman pays tributes to Ambedkar

Hyderabad: Telangana State BC Commission Chairman BS Ramulu and member Vakulabharanam Krishnamohan Rao garlanded the statue of Indian Constitution architect BR Ambedkar at Lower Tank Bund in Hyderabad and paid tributes on his 61st death anniversary on Wednesday.

They wished that Ambedkar’s dreams to implement political reservations in the legislative bodies, would be realised soon.

Speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday, Ramulu said Ambedkar had fought for the underprivileged sections throughout his life and wished for reservations in the legislative bodies, but could not realise due to various reasons.

“We hope that his dreams come true at this juncture and help younger generation leaders pave way for better future,” he said. He wanted people from all sections of society to walk the path of Ambedkar to achieve equal rights for all.

Ramulu recalled that Ambedkar fought for the empowerment of underprivileged sections during the British rule and later. He ensured the protection of rights of the underprivileged sections through Indian Constitution during independence, Ramulu added.

He appreciated that the governments were attempting to provide better opportunities for backward classes as well as SCs and STs in various platforms through effective implementation of reservations.
