Ramagundam CP holds peace meetings with ethnic tribes

Mancherial: Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal advised Adivasis and Lambadas to approach authorities when they have some apprehensions. He suggested them to verify facts about an incident and then respond. He conducted peace meetings with dwellers of Kothapet and Kolamguda hamlets in Indanpalli village of Jannaram mandal in the wake of clashes between the groups on Wednesday. He was joined by Mancherial DCP MS Venugopal Rao

Duggal opined that one would achieve nothing with violence. He cautioned that stringent action would be taken against those who violate provisions of Law for spreading false information on any means of communication. He stated that none should try to take the law into their hands.

The Commissioner of Police further suggested ethnic tribes and Lambadas not to believe in rumours being circulated on social media. He assured that cops were leaving no stone unturned for the protection of the public. He requested people to share information with regard to those who create disturbance in the society. Earlier, Duggal held a meeting with leaders of Tudumdebba, tribal rights organisation at Jannaram police station. He informed cases were booked against those who set huts of Kothapet ablaze the previous day. The leaders concurred that some persons in a fit of rage acted rashly on Tuesday. They asserted it was unfair and unfortunate to resort to violence.
