No plans to join politics at Centre: CM KCR

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao made it clear on Friday that he had no intention to make a foray into politics at the Centre. Laying the foundation stone for Golla Kuruma Samskhema Bhavan at Kokapet on the outskirts of the city, he said he will be happy serving people of the State as long as he can.

This is what he had precisely replied to the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, in Delhi, when he was asked about the agenda behind his resolve to reach out to people with unique schemes, including Rs 8,000 crop investment assistance per acre and a slew of other welfare measures.

The Home Minister wanted to know what would be the number of instalments the farmer would be given to repay Rs 8,000 per acre assistance sough to be given to the peasant community. “He was almost in for a shock when I clarified that it is totally free and would not fall in the category that needs to be repaid”.

Such generous assistance is very much needed by farmers. The assistance is aimed at helping the peasant community make up for the huge losses they incurred during the previous regimes in the undivided State, he said.
