Nizamabad collector provides financial support to ex-gudumba sellers

Nizamabad: Ex-gudumba manufacturers should utilise various rehabilitation programmes and lead a new life, said Nizamabad Collector A Ravinder Reddy.

The Collector distributed Rs 2 lakh worth loans each to 157 ex-gudumba manufacturing families on Thursday, in a programme, held at Ambedkar Bhavan, Nizamabad.

As per the direction of State government, Excise Department has designed employment generation programmes for gudumba manufactures. Loans are being provided to them to start dairy farms and sheep rearing units, and to buy autorickshaws.

Collector requested beneficiaries to keep away from gudumba manufactures and utilise the subsidised loans to lead a new life in future.

DRDO PD Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director of Animal Husbandry Prabhakar, BC Welfare Officer Vimala Devi, SC Welfare Officer Shanta Kumar, Excise Deputy Commissioner Devidraj and other officials participated.
