MLA Goud lists out development activities in Mahabubnagar

Mahabubnagar: Mahabubnagar MLA V Srinivas Goud felt that Monday was a historic day for Mahabubnagar district as Rs 847 Crore worth developmental works were being carried out in the district, an amount not spent by all government put together in the past 60 years.

Speaking at a public meeting held at the Municipal ground in the town as part of IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao’s visit, he said the people of Mahabubnagar town used to get drinking water once every 14, 15 or even 18 days, but it was brought down alternate days supply after TRS came to power. He assured daily supply of drinking water to the people of Mahabubnagar within a year.

Goud said that Rs 60 Crore was spent to give pensions for 14,000 people in Mahabubnagar in the past three years and that Rs 100 Crore worth road works for laying a bypass around the town, were underway. He proudly declared the 250-acre Mayuri park, which was his creation, as the biggest park in Telangana.

He observed that many speciality and multi-speciality hospitals would come up in Mahabubnagar due to the establishment of Government Medical College campus in the town at a cost of Rs 750 Crore. He said that many jobs would be created due to this development in the field of healthcare.

With beautification of tank bund near Shah Saab Gutta, construction of an integrated District Collectorate spread across 40 acres and through establishment of Mother and Child Hospital in the present Collectorate’s premises, he felt that the town would see major development in terms of development of infrastructure, creation of jobs and livelihood opportunities for many in the district.

Goud also pointed-out that the recently sanctioned IT Corridor for Mahabubnagar in 500 acres would create many more jobs for local professionals.

He said that there were 6 minority Gurukuls (highest in any district), 10 Social Welfare Residential Institutions and two Women’s Residential Degree Colleges had come up in the district under TRS’ rule.

He criticized the Congress party for creating roadblocks while the government was trying to pursue development of the district. “Those who never participated in the Telangana Movement and those who never cooperated with us in our developmental initiatives have been left speechless with no answers, as we carry out various developmental works here,” he said.
