Miss World Australia visits school in Sangareddy

Sangareddy: Esma Voloder, Miss World Australia, said every child born on this earth had the right to good standard of living.

She was speaking at Gaudium School in RC Puram mandal on the theme of ‘Child Rights’ on Wednesday. Voloder said she would continue to campaign across the globe on child rights to sensitise people about protecting the rights of children.

Children of the school presented a skit on child labour and child begging. Moved by the skit, she said she would work towards making each and every child smile, and would try to help them lead happy and healthy lives.

Appreciating the students who performed the skit, Miss World Australia said such knowledge on these kind of issues would have profound impact on children and surely they would go on to build better society in future.

To everyone’s surprise, she wished the kids in Telugu ‘Namaste Children’ with folded hands and the students reciprocated. A kid presented self-made greeting card and thanked her for visiting Gaudium. Voloder also thanked the girl after accepting it.

Earlier, she was accorded a grand reception by the students and her car was preceded by two horses. Speaking to press persons she said many kids were denied their rights particularly in African countries.

The school management also invited students of Borapatla Primary School for an interaction with Miss World Australia. When one of the students questioned how she could achieve so much at a young age, she said she won beauty pageant of Miss Teen Australia when she was just 16. Since then, the Australian said she had overcome each and every hurdle to reach the place she was at now.

Noted social activist, Sathish Sikha, who founded Healthy Kids Happy Kids Foundation, facilitated the visit. Director of the Gaudium, K Kirthi Reddy said that they organised the programme to help students grow into well-rounded individuals and claim their rightful place in the world.
