CM KCR to lay foundation for Golla, Kuruma bhavans on Dec 29

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will lay foundation for Golla Bhavan and Kuruma Bhavan to be constructed on five acres each at Budwel on December 29.

He has sanctioned Rs 10 crore (Rs 5 crore each) for the two bhavans. The members of Golla and Kuruma communities will organise a massive public meeting with about 10 lakh people as a thanksgiving gesture for the Chief Minister in Hyderabad on March 25.

Addressing a meeting at New MLA Quarters in the city on Sunday, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said the State government was striving for development of the communities since the State formation. He said the Chief Minister was keen on social and financial empowerment of backward classes by encouraging conventional occupations.

“Chandrashekhar Rao is the first Chief Minister to have conducted an exclusive discussion in the Assembly on issues pertaining to Golla and Kuruma communities. Apart from providing loans at just 0.25 per cent, he also launched sheep distribution scheme which has revolutionised meat production,” he said.

The Minister said the State government had distributed around 32 lakh sheep against 1.5 crore sheep proposed for distribution under the scheme. He said the government was not only promoting grass cultivation towards fodder for sheep, but also launched mobile veterinary services to provide medical care to sheep. He pointed out that the Chief Minister had not only assured MLC post for Kuruma Sangham State president Yegge Mallesham, but also promised Rajya Sabha post for Yadava community.

Mallesham along with Akhila Bharata Yadava Mahasabha president Baburao Yadav, Srikrishna Trust chairman Chintala Ravinder Yadav, Kuruma Sangham State general secretary Devara Rajeshwara Rao, among other leaders attended the meeting.
