CM KCR lays foundation for two Samkshema Bhavans at Kokapet

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao laid the foundation for the Golla, Kurma (Backward classes communities) Bhavan at Kokapet on Friday.

The State government allocated five acres to each community for the construction of the buildings. It also released Rs 5 crore to each building for the construction. So far, 23.80 lakh sheep were distributed to the Golla-Kuruma communities. “Every person from the two communities must have access to food, education, medical and other facilities, and the government will work towards it. These Bhawans will facilitate all of those,” said the Chief Minister.

Also, a marriage hall would come up.

According to Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav, the Bhavan, comprising hostels with modern facilities, would be constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore.

Thousands of people belonging to the communities from different parts of the State converged at Kokapet for a public meeting to be addressed by the Chief Minister after the foundation-laying ceremony.

“The Bhavan will be built to bring the communities on a single platform and inspire them for the development in all sectors. We will complete the construction in a year. This fund can be utilised for the education of poor Yadavs and support their medical expenditure,” the Chief Minister said.

Yadav recalled that either communities were trodden upon during the rule of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh government. “Since the first day of the Telangana government, the Chief Minister has been asking us to consider bringing these communities into the mainstream,” he said.
