CM KCR aims to formulate action plan for development of backward classes

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday made it clear that his government’s aim was development of backward classes (BCs) who constitute more than half of the State population, in all the fields. He announced the government is committed to implement any action plan prepared by BC public representatives from all political parties for upliftment of BCs. He suggested that they submit him a report with their suggestions and objections after due consultations in this regard.

The Chief Minister made the announcement during his inaugural address of the all party meeting convened at the Committee Hall of the State Legislative Assembly on Sunday, to discuss measures to be taken for the BC Welfare and Development. He said the government was already implementing several programmes for development and welfare of BCs. “But some more measures are to be taken to improve the living standard of BCs. I request public representatives to consult all the communities among the BCs and make recommendations to the government, which will be implemented in true spirit,” he said. He wanted suggestions on how BC Finance Commission and MBC Corporation should function as well as effective implementation of self-employment schemes.

Chandrashekhar Rao said the government is ready to issue necessary orders, instructions or pass Acts in tune with recommendations made by the BC public representatives. He said the government has no qualms to rectify any mistakes in the existing policies. He said the aim was to ensure development of BCs in the new State. He said in the developed countries the policies would be permanent despite there is a change in the government and this is not happening in the country and that is the lacunae. The CM wanted the policies, schemes, measures to be prepared should be done in such a manner that nobody would be able to change them in future.
