Sangareddy couple chose simple wedding, donate money to four widows

Sangareddy: Moved by the increasing number of farmers committing suicide, a couple had opted for a simple marriage and donated Rs 10,000 each to kin of four families, who had lost their sole earning member. T

he couple, Bodapalli Avaneesh Kumar, a MBA Graduate and Neelima, who had also completed MBA and MSc, opted for registered marriage. The Management graduates tied the knot three days ago. With the help of farmers associations, the groom has selected four farmers’ families under Sangareddy Assembly Constituency and gave away Rs 10,000 benefit to each of them. The new bride and groom had personally visited the four selected families in a car and accompanied them to the function hall. After a brief introduction by a one of Avaneesh’s friend on the bride and groom’s initiative, they have invited the four families on to the dais and handed Rs 10,000 after felicitating them.

Furthermore, the couple had also donated their eyes to LV Prasad Hospital, Organs to Mohan Foundation and bodies to Osmania Medical College. Speaking on the occasion, Avaneesh said that he knew the issues of farmers closely and said that he wanted to extend some help to them by assisting the women in raising their kids in a proper way.

Avaneesh, a native of Sadhasivapet and son of a teacher Bodapally Ravi, said that he also wanted to spread a message among the people by donating the eyes, organs and his body since there was a serious need to donate organs to save the lives of accident victims. Avaneesh thanked his wife for supporting his thought. Friends, relatives and representatives of farmers’ organisations praised Avaneesh and Neelima on this occasion.
