New libraries top priority, says Dist Libraries chairman Ravinder Reddy

Karimnagar: Chairman of district libraries, Eenugu Ravinder Reddy, was felicitated by Grandalaya Parirakshana Samithi, non-governmental organisations and various youth associations for being appointed as chairman of district libraries. He was honoured by presenting him a shawl and memento in a function held at the meeting hall of the district library, here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ravinder Reddy assured to develop village level libraries and take measures to establish new libraries in the district. Stating that book reading would help the people a lot, he advised the people especially youths to develop book heading habit to enhance their  knowledge. Besides making different kind of books available in the district library for the benefit of unemployed youths preparing for various competitive examinations, steps would also be taken to provide free coaching to them, he promised.

On the occasion, members of Grandalaya Parirakshana Samithi led by its president and national youth awardee, A Kiran Kumar, presented a representation to chairman requesting to take measures to provide electricity and drinking water facility at children library. Though a separate library for children named ‘Jawahar Balala Grandalayam’ is being operated at Nehru Yuvakendram during the last 25 years, children were facing troubles due to lack of current and drinking water facilities.

Library director Ganta Kalyani Srinivas was also felicitated. State youth awardee Sathineni Srinivas, representatives of various youth organisations Kashipaka Rajesh, Gundeti Srinivas, Aarelli Sai Krishna, Kashipaka Muralikrishna, Gajjela Ashok, Ambati Vinod Kumar, Ollala Madhu Kiran Goud, J Mahesh, and Gurram Padma Reddy were among those who felicitated chairman.
