Induction programme for teachers kicks off in Warangal

Warangal Urban: A four-week induction training programme began on Monday for newly recruited faculty under the Scheme of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT), an MHRD initiative, in the Senate Hall at the National Institute of Technology, Warangal.

The training programme was being organised by Teaching Learning Centre. Prof K Laxma Reddy, Dean, Research and Consultancy, NITW, said the programme was conceptualised to provide an opportunity for teachers from various disciplines to make their teaching creative and interesting. He stated technology-based learning had redefined the role of a teacher from a mere provider of information to a facilitator and material designer of learning. He also commended the noble initiative undertaken by TLC in organising the programme.

He remarked that learning outcomes could also be improved incredibly by exposing the newly recruited faculty to various pedagogical inputs.  Prof NV Umamahesh, Prof L Krishnanand, Dr K Madhavi, and Dr Paul Joseph are the coordinators for the programme. About 34 members working in engineering, degree, management, and education colleges and universities from various parts of India attended the programme.  Prof NV Ramana Rao, Director, NITW, Coordinator and Prof in charge, TLC, Prof A Ramachandraiah and others attended the programme as the guests.
