Free online EAMCET mock tests for govt junior college students

Hyderabad: Government junior college students appearing for online Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) would be offered free online mock tests.

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) which will hold all common entrance tests (CETs) online from the next year has decided to train students for EAMCET with the help of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

On Monday, TSCHE, Chairman, Prof. T Papi Reddy convened a meeting with officials of TS Online, TCS, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) and Osmania University (OU) to discuss conduct of entrance tests online. The CETs will be conducted online with the help of TCS, he said. As large number of students appear for the EAMCET, the council intends to hold entrance test for three to four days.

Since the CETs are to be conducted online, there could be a nominal hike in the fee for these.
Like every year, the JNTU-H will hold EAMCET, the task of conducting Law Common Entrance Test next year could be entrusted to OU instead of Kakatiya University.

A senior official said the KU law department had issues related to short staff and thus plans were to give LAWCET to University College of Law, OU.

Meanwhile, the TSCHE held a meeting with representatives of Gaming, Animation and Visual Effects Industry and Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University to introduce new courses to meet the requirements of the industry.

An official said Gaming, Animation and Visual Effects industry is growing so is the demand for professionals.

“Efforts are on to introduce courses with assistance from private film schools in the city. The courses will help students getting equipped with required skills and they can aspire for a job once the IMAGE Tower completes,” official said.
