Four new health facilities inaugurated in erstwhile Warangal dist

Warangal/Jangaon: Health minister C Laxma Reddy has said that a total of 14 wellness centres would be set up in the State in the coming two to three months for the benefit of the employees, pensioners and journalists.

He also said that the super speciality hospital in Warangal would be inaugurated soon. The minister along with deputy chief minister Kadiam Srihari has inaugurated the wellness centre set up at government maternity hospital (GMS) in Hanamkonda on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Laxma Reddy said that 40 dialysis centre had also been sanctioned by the State government which would be set up soon. “A mother and child hospital will be set up in Warangal city,” he added.

Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari said that the  government employees and journalists had played a key role in the separate Telangana movement  and added that the State government was committed to provide required  health care facilities to these sections without taking financial burden into consideration.

“The State government is providing health services in the government hospitals equal to the services available at the corporate hospitals. Deliveries at the government hospitals have increased due to the improvement in the infrastructure and schemes like ‘KCR Kits’,” he explained.

Later, the health minister inaugurated the mother and child hospital at Champak hills on the outskirts of the town, and dialysis centre  at the area government hospital at Jangaon district headquarters. The 150 bedded  hospital was established with Rs 20 crore provide corporate level services to the poor people.

In the evening,  Minister C Laxma Reddy inaugurated the urban health centre (UHC) at Kazipet under GWMC limits.  Locals MLAs and officials have attended the programmes.

The health minister has also inspected the ongoing construction works of the administrative building of the Kaloji health university in Warangal city. He also inspected the construction of the  super speciality building in Warangal city. He asked the officials to expedite the works. MLA Vinay Bhaskar and varsity VC Dr Karunkar Reddy accompanied the minister.
