Congress will come back in power in 2019: Uttam Kumar Reddy

Suryapet: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday exuded confidence that the Congress would come to power in the Centre and the State in 2019 elections.

The TPCC chief on Thursday visited Shunyapahad Lift Irrigation Scheme at Palakeedu in the district, which is being constructed with a cost of Rs 9 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress would waive loans of up to Rs 2 lakh of farmers, if voted to power in the State. He alleged that the crop loan waiver taken up by the TRS government in phases has not fully benefitted the farmers. He suggested the farmers, whose interest of the crop loan was not waived, to submit applications to the District Agriculture Officer within two-days. He also informed that the Congress party would continue to fight in the Legislative Assembly for the waiver of interests on crop loans.

He also promised to grant a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 2,000 for paddy, Rs 5,000 for cotton and Rs 10,000 for red chilly to the farmers. In addition to this, unemployment incentive of Rs 3,000 per month would be given to jobless youth, he assured.

“Measures would be taken up to run a passenger train to Miryalaguda from Jaggaiahpet through Mattampally”, he said.

Expressing displeasure over delay in works of Mattampally bridge, he claimed that the previous government had sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the bridge so that people would not be burdened with toll fee.
