All Minority Welfare wings to function under single roof, says Deputy CM

Hyderabad: All sections and wings functioning under the Minority Welfare department will come under a single roof in a building adjacent to Haj House, Nampally, said Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali here on Monday.

After inspecting the construction of the building along with legislators and officials concerned, Mahmood Ali said that following instructions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, work on converting this building into a mini-secretariat for minority communities. The building will have an extent of 1.13 lakh sft area apart from two cellars for parking.

Deputy Chief Minister said, “on the representation of MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi during last Assembly session, Chief Minister has asked us to visit this building”.  Presently, offices of four to five wings and sections under Minority Welfare department were functioning in the rented buildings and government has to bear monthly rental of Rs 6 lakh to 8 lakh.

The building adjacent to Haj House is a Wakf Property and the earlier Wakf Board had decided to lease this building to increase rental income. However, K.Chandrashekhar Rao had issued instructions on accommodating all offices under one roof. MIM legislators Akbaruddin Owaisi, Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, Jaffer Hussain Mahraj, Chairman Wakf Board Mohammed Saleem, AK Khan advisor to government, Omer Jaleel Secretary Minority Welfare and other were present on the occasion.
